You are responsible for providing analysis and research on energy markets and the energy transition. Do you have a proven track record in this area? Can we learn from your in-depth knowledge of these markets? Tell us your story. We are curious! If you’re already good, we’ll make you even better. That is a promise. Your job

You write research on energy markets, with a particular focus on the energy transition. You will assess the outlook for energy markets, including supply, demand and prices. The shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy and electrification, including future scenarios for the transition and what it means for GHG emissions, is a particular focus. It’s your responsibility to translate your analysis into clear and thought-provoking views.

You publish your views and opinions on a regular basis. Publications include, amongst others, regular commentary, thematic research, as well as forecasts. Your research is focused on both external clients as well as a wide range of internal stakeholders. A large number of presentations as well as media engagement is part of the job.

You will be part of the Sustainability Research team and you will corporate closely with our wider research group, including ESG/investment strategists, central bank watchers, macroeconomists, and data analysts.

Working environment

The Sustainability Research team, which is part of Group Economics, is expanding its business. Our footprint is growing quickly within ABN AMRO as well as outside the bank. The team builds transition and climate scenarios, assess the economic impact of transitions and physical risk, analyses decarbonization options for different sectors and assesses policies. The wider department also consists of macroeconomists, ESG/investment strategists, and data analysts. We all work together to provide a comprehensive view of the world that the bank and its clients are facing.

Working at ABN AMRO means becoming even better at what you do. We understand clients, translate their ambitions into joint success and thus earn their trust. We want our clients to understand our products. It’s why we sometimes say ‘no’ if the risk attached to a product is too great for the client. Serving the client’s interests is also a question of offering – and communicating – a transparent range of products. Banking is our business, the world is our challenge.
