We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague that will help us shape the future of Conversational AI at ABN AMRO.

Your job

Thousands of customers interact with ABN AMRO on a weekly basis. We want to make sure that these conversations are getting resolved in an effective and friction free manner.

Here at Team Advanced Conversational Engagement, part of the Customer Interaction Domain, we maintain and innovate on top of our conversational bot, Interactive voice response (IVR), and internal Advisor Assist tooling.

In the Cognition team we are responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and innovating our conversational solutions to ensure they meet evolving customer needs and industry standards.

You will be working on the intersection of data science and data analysis to translate text data into valuable insights.

Subjects you might be working on include automated insights, train and testing strategies, evaluating supervised machine learning- and large language models.

Our workflows have matured a lot in the last years. However, the field of Conversational AI is dynamic, which requires us to re-evaluate our work processes, tech stack and benchmarks on a regular basis.

To stay on top of these best practices we are looking for a colleague that enable us to give our customers the best experience possible.

Working environment

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary scrum team consisting of (business) analysts, data scientists, and conversation designers.

In the extended team you will be working alongside data engineers, user experience designers, content writers and front- and backend developers.

Your profile

  • Academic background in Data Science, Computer Science, or any other related field
  • Five plus years of work experience in data science, analytics and/or machine learning (methods, technology, data)
  • Experience with building and/or maintaining:
    • Machine learning models,
    • Tooling for model development,
    • Data processing and validation,
    • Model evaluation
  • Working proficiency with any of the following subjects:
    • Conversational AI,
    • LLMs,
    • Supervised-unsupervised learning,
    • Clustering algorithms,
    • Text embeddings,
    • Transformers
  • Strong analytical and programming skills in Python
  • Able to effectively communicate (in written and spoken Dutch and English) about your analyses and results
  • Pro-active, curious attitude, and an excellent team player
  • Ability to independently take ownership over projects and communicate with stakeholders

Nice to have:

  • Powerbi pro-license
  • Working experience with any other programming language such as SQL, Pyspark
  • Experience with Databricks

Hiring process:

We are looking for two new colleagues: one medior, and one senior. The offer will therefore either be based on scale 9 or 10. This assessment of medior or senior, and the feedback for that, will be part of the interviews and communicated transparently throughout the process.

The application process will consist of two interviews. The first interview will be with the hiring manager where we go over a case that will be shared by email beforehand. This case is expected to be prepared before the first interview. The second interview will be together with team members. An additional personality test might be part of the assessment after the first interview.

The invites for the interviews will be send from April 3 onwards. First conversations will be scheduled from April 10 onwards.
